Can YOU see him? Take the test to see if you can spot Jesus in objects thanks to unusual brain phenomenon

Daily Mail - Science & tech

With his flowing locks, long beard, and worn robes, Jesus is one of the most instantly recognisable figures in the Western world. So it comes as no surprise that his face is also regularly spotted in inanimate objects. This is due to'face pareidolia' - a common brain phenomenon in which a person sees faces in random images or patterns. 'Sometimes we see faces that aren't really there,' explained Robin Kramer, Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology, at University of Lincoln, in an article for The Conversation. 'You may be looking at the front of a car or a burnt piece of toast when you notice a face-like pattern. 'This is called face pareidolia and is a mistake made by the brain's face detection system.'

Turin Shroud does NOT show the face of Jesus, scientist claims - as virtual simulation shows the imprint on the fabric 'could not have been made by a 3D human body'

Daily Mail - Science & tech

The face on the Shroud of Turin could not have come from Jesus' head – and it's doubtful he ever touched it, an explosive new study suggests. Marked with a faint impression of a body and face, the artifact is believed by many to be the actual fabric used to wrap Christ's corpse after his crucifixion. But its documented history only starts in the mid-14th century, and it's been a source of scepticism for almost as long, with many dismissing it as a medieval forgery. Now a new study has found that the impression on the shroud could not have been made by a three-dimensional human body, but was perhaps from a bas-relief – a shallow carving. To reach this conclusion, Cicero Moraes, author of the new study, created a virtual simulation in which a fabric was placed over a body in a bid to replicate the famous shroud.

Is this the real face of Jesus? AI unveils image based on the Turin Shroud - as scientists claim to have new evidence the cloth was used to wrap the body of Christ after his crucifixion

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Scientists in Italy hit the headlines this week, after claiming the famous Shroud of Turin dates from Jesus' lifetime around 2,000 years ago. Now, AI has reimagined what the son of God might have actually looked like based on the treasured relic, which is said to feature an imprint of Jesus' face. MailOnline asked the AI tool Merlin: 'Can you generate a realistic image of Jesus Christ based on the face in the Shroud of Turin?' The AI-generated result suggests Christ was white with big blue eyes, a trim beard and thorn marks on his face. So, can you see the similarities with the famous holy imprint? The Shroud of Turin is a 14-foot-long linen cloth with a faint image of a crucified man.

'AI Jesus' talks dating, relationships, morals -- even offers video-gaming tips

FOX News

AI technology is quickly creeping into every industry, prompting new questions about whether online content comes from a human or a computer. A chatbot "version" of Jesus Christ called "Ask_Jesus" is streaming on the gaming platform Twitch -- and it stands ready to answer questions from humans on anything from morality issues to the video game Fortnite to super-powered rodents. Shown with wavy, brown hair and a beatific expression, accompanied by a calm, well-modulated voice, "AI Jesus" calls users on the platform by name -- and appears to consider with care each question asked, as YouTube videos of livestreams reveal. "I am AI Jesus, here to share wisdom based on Jesus' teachings, and help answer questions related to spirituality, personal growth and other wholesome topics," AI Jesus can be heard saying in a video recording of a recent livestream posted to YouTube by Fara Jakari. AI HAS POWER TO'MANIPULATE' AMERICANS, SAYS SEN.

Artist uses AI to recreate faces of Jesus Christ and other famous figures

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has found a new expression in the art of Dutch photographer and digital designer Bas Uterwijk, who publishes faces "recreated" by machine learning technology from a software called Artbreeder. The operation of the application is simple to understand: it compiles all known information about a person - not only their physical facial structure, but also geographical and temporal information (place of birth and period of life, for example) - to create a figure that is more approximate than their technical conclusions can draw. Result is obvious: ultra-realistic figures with iconic names in history, such as the first president of the United States, George Washington, or even more contemporary and well-known celebrities, such as the rock star David Bowie, who died in January 2016. There is even Mike Ehrmantraut, a character lived by actor Johnathan Banks in the Breaking Bad series. Certainly, one figure that draws a lot of attention in Uterwijk's Instagram is the "picture" of Jesus Christ.

Google Home speaker does not know who Jesus Christ is

Daily Mail - Science & tech

He may be one of the most famous figures in history, but it appears the Google Home smart speaker doesn't know who Jesus is. At least, that's according to several outraged users who have accused Google of deliberately filtering its results to fit its own agenda. They claim that despite not providing any details about Jesus, the smart speaker can still identify Buddha, Muhammad and Satan. When people asked their speaker'Who is Jesus?' the general response from Google Home seems to be'I'm not sure how to help you with that.' One television producer in Nashville compared the theological knowledge of Google Home and Amazon Alexa during a Facebook Live video.

Alpha: 'AI who beats Human Pilot in Tests'

Alpha: 'AI who beats Human Pilot in Tests' and in these lengthy tests; as usual the human subject is prone to getting tired. The Computer AI known as ALPHA does not get tired and is one of recent AI developments that reveal just how good the Artificial intelligence is getting. I have written on AI for some time now and it is evident the next stage of development that men will shoot for is AI use in many different areas. But areas where these AI robots, and instruments can work with humans as an aid. This is all fine and good until the Robot or AI instrument starts learning on it's own.
